Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle… A Movie Review…

Growing up I got to watch Robin Williams in a barrage of hilarious movies, including the one and only Jumanji. At least, it used to be one and only, the follow-up movie takes place some years after the end of Robin Williams‘s Jumanji.

The movie has a new spin on it, the board-game has been found again, but this time, the magic of the board has turned it into a video game, which when played, sucks the players into the game-console, where they must save the day to escape Jumanji.

This is a beautiful cast of characters and a well thought story. When I went into this movie I didn’t think it would be able to do justice to the original, nothing would be able to compare to Robin Williams. I was so, very, wrong.

This movie combines the acting of several actors skills together in the most amazing way, while The Rock isn’t the best actor in my opinion, he is however an amazing person for this role of the hero. Kevin Hart is also absolutely hilarious in this movie, which is pretty standard for Kevin Hart. Additionally we have Jack Black who just nails the role so perfectly. And finally, to finish off with the female role, we have Karen Gillan, who did amazingly well.

I don’t like doin’ spoilers, so I won’t post more about the story than I already have, but I will say this, the way these actors all worked together, truly showcased their talents; of which they all have different talents. This made me realize something about acting, that it may not always be the skill of the actor, but the role that truly defines them. A bad role on a good actor will make the actor look bad, in my humble opinion. This movie played to their strengths and did such an amazing job with the story of Jumanji that I have since watched this move about 10 times.

I give this movie a solid 9 out of 10. I don’t care what other people rated it, personally, this was a great movie. Don’t go into it to compare it to Robin Williams like I did, because I have to tell you, that made me go in with a bad feeling, and a bad mood. It did me wrong, and did the movie wrong by comparing.

It was simply amazing, give it a go if you have not seen it!
