Review a Streamer: ViolentHippy

My quest to highlight streamers continues, today with ViolentHippy. In my opinion, one of the best streamers, not only on DLive, but across any platform. I have watched hundreds of streamers over the past few years, and rarely do I ever return to watch them again, they just don’t have that, special something. Well, ViolentHippy has that special something.

ViolentHippy doin’ his thang!

ViolentHippy is as he sounds, a true hippy with a tendancy to be violent (in video games). He is an interactive streamer, which if you ask me, is better than what you find out there across most streams. He often refers to his peoples in the chat, as ‘chat’ because, well, its easier that way I would assume. But he also doesn’t discount you, if he is interacting with you, he calls you out by name. A lot of streamers just do not do this. This personalizes the stream a lot, and while you are in chat, talking with the other chatters, and with hippy, he is quick to respond.

There is a lot to gain from watching a streamer like Hippy if you are trying to become a streamer yourself. He simply embodies everything a good streamer should be, a character, interactive, engaging, funny, sad, serious, and willing to learn and expand himself, his stream, all to the benefit of his viewers.

ViolentHippy

Now I have a personal policy to not post links in chat, so I always ask when enging with a streamer. With Hippy, he has given me a green light to post links, which is pretty awesome for someone who is not a mod on his channel. Of course I will still always ask, but the fact that he said it on stream is pretty amazing. Building a trust bond with your followers is essential to being a great streamer, and Hippy does just that. Which is a truly defining characteristic of his.

Some defining moments of his stream in the 2019 year is an affinity to White Claw (yes, drinking on stream), which is honestly how I found Hippy. In the wee hours of the morning I stumbled across his channel, he was drinkin’ beers and just having a great time. I instantly followed him because of his clear charisma, even loaded he was who he is. Plus his gameplay was pretty awesome, as per usual.

Now that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen him Potato, and potato hard. Because he has, but that makes it just as fun. I mean, you cannot be a Violent Hippy if you don’t occassionally potato. Am I right?

Of course his game of choice, at least for the timeframe that I have watched him has been PUBG (Player Unknown Battlegrounds). And time and time again I have seen him get those coveted Chicken Dinners. And it is something special to witness. When someone asked him on stream about playing fortnite, he said, and I quote…

I don’t like shooting someone and them turning into a nine story building.

ViolentHippy

This is hilarious because it is true, and it says a lot about Hippy. But for me, it shows a serious sense of humour, as well as a serious affinity for a fair fight. IMHO.

One of the best things of Hippy is that he sticks to his schedule to the best he can, and when he can’t, we puts it out on twitter/facebook that he is delayed or won’t be streaming. Now a lot of streamers do this, but hippy just has a way about himself that makes this somewhat special, whether it be his wording, or what-not, he is showing his love for his fans all around.

So much so he rewards his loyal subscribers with sub-sunday, that is right, a day where he plays games with his subscribers. Not a bad deal if you ask me. He is entertaining to watch, and that is extremely pleasing to begin with, but when he brings subscribers into the game to play, that is even better. To be honest, not a lot of streamers are willing to risk brining in ‘unknown’ people into their stream, god forbid they get on voice chat and say something inappropriate, it could cost a streamer big-time. This is a risk Hippy happily takes though, and luckily all his subscribers are what appear to be good people, because nobody has done anything to get Hippy Banned.

This is great for me, as I enjoy his streams thoroughly.

So, would I recommend ViolentHippy to anyone? Well, if you didn’t read everything above, then I guess I’ll say it outright here, Yes, I would. And I do.

There is so much more I could write/say about ViolentHippy, but I feel you should just go check him out instead. Its worth it!

Be sure to check out the rewiew of another great streamer, Boomer.TV’s here.

Review a Streamer: Boomer_Nation

I am a fan of video game streaming, some people often ask, why would you watch someone else play a video game, thats dumb… etc etc. I usually return with a comment about them watching sports, and how they should play instead of watching… Usually shuts them up pretty quickly.

And that leads in to this streamer review.

Boomer_Nation

Boomer_Nation is a great guy to watch over on DLive. He is interactive, funny, does giveaways, recently he gave away a Razer Kiyo camera a person on his stream.

He is a family man, with kids and a wife that has taken up the moniker of Mrs.Boomer, who also streams over on DLive. The family element of his stream is part of the attraction here. Obviously you have to ask why this is a good thing, at least for me. Well I am happy to see a whole family be involved in the streaming world. This is why streaming is so unique, because a person with a family, can be successful doing something they truly love, with the people they love and it works out beautifully.

I have stopped in multiple times on his stream and told jokes, shared crazy gifs on his chat, talked shop, and he has returned by shouting me out on twitter, and drawn more people to my channel as well. You can see that the community on DLive is self-supporting, and at the heart of it, is this fine gentleman. Not once have I asked for anything from him, I have just watched and enjoyed his stream. Even laughed when his kids came on stream to ask him for things. No pause button, just watched him go right to town with his kids, no fear of his character dying, nothing, his family came first and that made my heart sing.

Being a part of that family element is amazing, because the other day, over on twitch we all got to see the exact opposite of what an amazing parent would do. I won’t go into many details here, but a woman in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was arrested for abusing her child on stream when she was interrupted playing a popular video game.

Join the boomer nation!

This is a real difference in gaming, parenting, and so-on. This is the reason why I am a fan of Boomer, he plays, interacts, and is clearly a great parent becuase he doesn’t let his stream, video games, anything get in the way of his family life, his children, his wife. And that makes him worth the watch, if not for the games, for the obvious love this man has for his family, it is elating to see.

If you haven’t given boomer a chance, I suggest you head on over to his channel on DLive and watch. It is good to see someone who shares good wholesome family values stream their obvious downtime and be happy doing it, even if there is interruptions.

Front Page

So there I was, Front Page of DLive, that is a feeling that I love. My stream, which is just at the time, streaming music, was front page of a popular streaming website. I feel super stoked about it.

I stream music from my house on DLive because my work has blocked Youtube, so this is how I can get music into my work which is otherwise very quiet.

This has been a wild ride! I am now over 80 followers! I gained 30 yesterday!

But to see my page had so many views on it (30 viewers yesterday) as well as being front page. I am simple awe-struck by that and couldn’t be happier.

I am a small time video game streamer, but this gives me hope for the future of my streaming career.

I am simply stoked for everything that is coming with all the work I am putting in to developing my stream futher, which is why I haven’t been posting on here as much. I have been putting time/effort in to building my UI for my stream and developing stuff that I need to be able to put the best foot forward for that stream experience.

I hope to someday have hundreds if not thousands of followers someday.

Upcoming Stream! Monday December 9th 2019! #Giveaway included!

Okay, Okay, I am a junior streamer, it happens to be that on the 9th of December I am going to do a stream giveaway!

That’s correct! I am going to be giving away steam-keys throughout my broadcast to those watching!

My stream should kick off around 1130-1200 Eastern Standard Time, I don’t know what titles I will be giving away, but I do know that if I reach 50 followers, I will giveaway a 50 dollar gift card to one very lucky follower!! The draw for the 50 dollar gift card will be on the 15th of December and will be announced on twitter. Why the delay? Because if I do not hit 50 followers on the 9th, I will leave a little bit of extra time for followers to hit me up. If I hit the 50 followers on the 9th, I’ll do the draw, but I’ll still announce it on the 15th. Its a big deal.

Rules as follows: must be watching and following the stream to be entered for each keycode giveaway, and the 50 dollar gift card as well, so if you’re following but not watching at the time, you won’t be entered into the draw.

I’ll be streaming from this rig!

I know I am new to streaming, but I wanted to announce it here on my blog, as it will also go out on my twitter, and tumblr, and pintrest, etc, you get the picture. I wanted to give enough people time to understand exactly what is happening.

Not only will I be streaming and doing a giveaway, but I will also be chilling with my good friend Apache N4Sir (That is right, the Halo 2 Legend himself). We are going to be rocking the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, most likely on Hardcore, and most likely in Kill Confirmed!

Aside from the giveaway, I’d like to invite everyone to my stream, pop in, say hi, send emotes, etc. My setup doesn’t allow me (yet) to have sound-effects from my PC pop up on me so if you send me ‘lemons’ or something I won’t hear/see the notification, but it will pop up on the actual stream and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! I usually check between matches.

I also am a fan of supporting other start-up streamers, so if you’re also new to streaming, if you send me a follow, I will follow you back. I am notorious for following people on stream. ViolentHippy gets a lot of my time when he is online, so does the Boomer himself. I am happy to support other streamers. So if you are new, please feel free to drop by, #SupportEachOther is real.

The new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller.

We will be playing on our XBox One X’s, I’ll be rocking my Elite series 2 controller, and it will be fun. I am excited to announce the stream like this. And I intend to announce further streams through this medium, at least streams that will have Giveaways and what-not associated with them.

So everyone is welcome, I am not PG13, but I hope you will be in the chat, make my life a little easier moving forward.

Moving forward I would also like to announce that I will be doing larger giveaways in the 2020 timeframe. I have intent to giveaway some pretty nice products when and where I can. It is all dependant upon how many followers I get and if I can hit that affiliate status with DLive!

If you wanna check me out, please feel free to hit me up on Dlive. That is http://www.dlive.tv/simmydizzle. I swear it’ll be solid!

DLIVE.TV – STREAMLABS ENABLED

Okay, so I am a very new streamer, I don’t do it often enough to get noticed much… Yet.. But this recent change is a provacative change. Dlive is now built into Streamlabs from what I’ve read and seen via the actual DLive website.

This raises questions for me, does this mean the chat is built into the streamlabs OBS system? Are the streamlabs widgets all functional? What will happen to tidylabs?

This is a great day no matter what for this Junior Streamer, because this change will be a good change no matter what!

I am looking forward to getting home and testing this out tomorrow to see exactly what has changed!

The full article for this recent integration can be found here. If you’re a new streamer, or an existing streamer, I highly suggest you take a look at it and see if DLive is right for you! Especially now!
